Isaac Okoh (ENG) received a chorus of boos from the home crowd as he entered the ring for his Men\u2019s 90kg semi-final. Moments later, his opponent Robert McNulty of Scotland had a hero\u2019s welcome as a booming roar reverberated around Hall 5 of the SEC Centre.<\/p>\n
The boos only got louder as Okoh (pictured) embraced the role of a pantomime villain, teasing his opponent on the back foot and even having moments to showboat. He would win the battle of the mind games and the battle in the ring, beating McNulty by unanimous decision, and doing so with a smile on his face.<\/p>\n

A moment of sportsmanship was shared between the pair as the Scot lifted his opponent\u2019s arm after the verdict.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing in here we knew what to expect \u2013 a bit of hostility, they\u2019re going to support their boy,” Okoh said. “But ultimately we knew we had to lock in and block that out during the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew he was going to get drawn in to play to the crowd and at the end of the day, it played in my favour. We used it against him and came away with a victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe tried to drag me into mind games when we was out the back waiting to come in, trying to talk to me and stuff.<\/p>\n
