On August 12, the IDEA Connect Summer Market<\/a>\u00a0will\u00a0present an event at IDEA Square One that features\u00a013 student-run businesses.\u00a0Visitors can shop for unique products and services, meet the young business owners behind them and support local\u00a0talent.\u00a0The event is a chance to connect, discover something new and celebrate the next generation of entrepreneurs.\u00a0<\/p>\nThe\u00a0young\u00a0business owners\u00a0are part of\u00a0Summer Company<\/a>, a program funded by the Government of Ontario. People ages 15 to 29 start and run their own businesses during the summer months. High school students commit to 280 or more hours while post-secondary students commit to 420 or more hours between May and Labour Day. Through training,\u00a0guidance\u00a0from\u00a0IDEA\u00a0and hands-on experience, they build skills and turn their ideas into\u00a0real\u00a0businesses.\u00a0<\/p>\n The\u00a0IDEA Connect Summer Market\u00a0takes place at the end of the\u00a0IDEA Mississauga\u00a0Summer Company\u00a0program. Students get to\u00a0meet\u00a0customers and\u00a0get\u00a0sales experience before\u00a0heading\u00a0back\u00a0to school.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u200bWhat<\/p>\n The IDEA Connect Summer Market features 13 student-run businesses that are part of the Summer Company program in Mississauga.\u00a0<\/p>\n Visitors\u00a0can shop for goods and services\u00a0at the market.\u00a0They\u2019ll\u00a0get a\u00a0passport and collect\u00a0a\u00a0stamp as they visit\u00a0each\u00a0business.\u00a0They\u00a0can enter their\u00a0stamped\u00a0passports into a raffle\u00a0to win\u00a0an IDEA\u00a0gift\u00a0bag.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Who\u00a0<\/p>\n Meet the talented student\u00a0business owners\u00a0behind the 2026 IDEA Mississauga Summer Company program.
