Source: Source: Mac Observer

Motorola is working on a premium smartwatch called the Moto Watch Ultra, and leaked renders have given us our first look. A Mac Observer exclusive reveals a 46mm stainless steel case with LTE, GPS, IP68 dust and water resistance, and a 50-meter water depth rating. No release date or price has been announced.

A Motorola in premium clothing

The Watch Ultra is a significant step up from Motorola’s current smartwatch lineup. The existing Moto Watch uses an aluminium case and starts at $149.99 in the US — solidly budget territory. The Ultra swaps that for stainless steel, which immediately positions it as a different kind of product. The front shows a display, a bezel, a large rotating encoder crown, and a secondary side button. The back carries a wide optical sensor array for health and fitness tracking. The renders show it paired with a faux-leather strap in black with red stitching and a red lining.

Motorola hasn’t made any official statements about the watch, so software platform, battery life, and full spec details remain unknown. The critical question — whether it runs Wear OS or a proprietary system — hasn’t been answered by the leak.

Crowded competition at the top

Android Authority analysis frames this as a genuine comeback bid for the flagship smartwatch segment, where Motorola has been absent for years. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra sits at $649 in the US, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 starts above $799. If Motorola prices the Watch Ultra below both — likely in the $500–650 range based on where these specs typically land — it could attract buyers who want premium hardware without committing to Samsung’s or Apple’s ecosystem.

That’s a real opportunity, but also a credibility challenge. Motorola’s recent smartwatch history is almost entirely budget-focused, from the Moto Watch 40 at around $65 up to the $149.99 current model. Convincing buyers to spend five times more will require more than a steel case — competitive software support and a clear update policy will matter just as much.

For now, the Moto Watch Ultra is unannounced. No launch window, no confirmed pricing, and no availability details have been shared by Motorola.

Leaked render of the Moto Watch Ultra showing the rotating crown, side button, and black faux-leather strap with…

[17
49,48,195,61
post-841846","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-gadgets","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-gadgets","tag-technology
["GET
