A shelter-in-place is currently in effect in Mississauga First Nation.<\/p>\n
According to the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, they are responding to a disturbance involving a potentially armed individual around West Street and Park Road.<\/p>\n
Residents in the area are asked to follow these safety procedures:<\/p>\n
\n\tIf you are outside, seek shelter immediately in a secure location.
\n\tIf you are inside, remain there and lock all doors and windows.
\n\tCall 9-1-1 immediately if you see or encounter someone suspicious.
\n\tClose curtains or blinds to avoid drawing attention.
\n\tIf driving, proceed directly to your destination and lock your doors upon arrival.
\n\tDo not pick up hitchhikers.
\n\tFollow all instructions from officers at the scene.

The public is also asked to avoid\u00a0travelling to the affected area until further notice.<\/p>\n
