The Disney<\/a> brand is one of the most recognisable in the world, so messing with its legendary logos is a brave move. That didn’t stop designer Allan Peters from putting his own spin on the Disney+ logo, causing a stir among creatives.<\/p>\n

Thanks to its rich history and classic design, the Disney logo<\/a> has endured across the years, featuring across its sub-brands from Disney Studios to Disney+. Peters’ take on the classic design is astoundingly simple, yet surprisingly controversial, proving that sometimes you shouldn’t touch the classics.<\/p>\n

Noticing that the Disney logo already features a ‘+’ motif hidden within the wordmark, Peters’ design revamp was simple. Make the Disney ‘D’ the logo. Making the inner plus sign more prominent with bolder, straighter lines, the ‘fixed’ logo is admittedly a clever take on the original Disney+ logo, but some fans weren’t so pleased.<\/p>\n

“I feel the Disney D is just too iconic to change,” one Instagram<\/a> commenter wrote. Another commenter passionately added, “There is literally only one rule. NEVER touch Disney. EVER,” while one Disney purist wrote, “That D is Walt\u2019s handwriting, it\u2019s sacred.”<\/p>\n
