Australia\u2019s cyclists have completed Glasgow 2026 with the most track cycling medals in its Commonwealth Games history.<\/p>\n

A record haul of 10 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze in track cycling and Para track cycling \u2013 28 in total \u2013 surpasses the 20 medals Australia won in 2014, when the Games were, fittingly, also held in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Only the 2010 edition has seen Australia win more gold medals in track cycling:12 were won in New Delhi that year.<\/p>\n

The 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow saw the cycling program reduced to just track cycling and Para track cycling, with road cycling and mountain bike events not held.<\/p>\n

South Australian sprinter Leigh Hoffman led Australia’s charge<\/a> with three gold medals and a silver, including his contribution to victory in the men\u2019s team sprint<\/a>. He is the first Australian cyclist to win four medals at the one Games.<\/p>\n

Tasmania\u2019s Georgia Baker won her fourth and fifth Commonwealth gold medals in the team pursuit<\/a> and scratch race, joining Anna Meares, Brad McGee and Matthew Glaetzer with the most career golds<\/a>. Baker was also awarded the honour of being Australia\u2019s flag bearer at the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony.<\/p>\n

Para cyclist Tara Neyland, from Melbourne, set two world records<\/a> en route to collecting her dual gold medals in the Women\u2019s C4\u2212C5 events.<\/p>\n

Alyssa Polites was also a double gold medallist, taking home an individual victory in the elimination race<\/a> along with gold in the team pursuit.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s oldest medal winner was Brisbane\u2019s Jacqui Mengler-Mohr, age 47, who piloted Jess Gallagher to a pair of silver medals in the Women\u2019s Tandem B events.<\/p>\n

The youngest medal winner was 20-year-old Tayte Ryan, who won a pair of bronze medals in the men\u2019s sprint events.<\/p>\n

Many of Australia’s cycling athletes will next compete on the world stage at the UCI Track World Championships and UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships in October.<\/p>\n
