A collision involving an ambulance and a passenger vehicle sent a car onto its roof at a busy Victoria intersection Sunday evening.

Victoria police say officers were called to the intersection of Bay and Blanshard streets at approximately 5:52 p.m. after an ambulance and a passenger vehicle collided.

The impact caused the passenger vehicle to roll over and come to rest upside down in the intersection.

Dashcam video shared online by Thao Vyy Nguyen appears to show a red sedan travelling southbound on Blanshard Street when it collides with an ambulance travelling westbound on Bay Street with its emergency lights and sirens activated.

Watch the video below:

“The woman driving the ambulance appeared to be OK because she was able to pull over to the side of the road on her own, although the airbags had deployed,” Nguyen told CHEK News.

“Another woman ran over to check on her right away. A few seconds after the crash, I saw her turn around and ask if the person in the back of the ambulance was OK. I’m not sure whether it was a patient or a paramedic.”

The video shows the car skidding on its side before flipping onto its roof.

The intersection was closed while emergency crews responded and VicPD traffic collision analysts examined the scene.

“The collision caused the passenger vehicle to roll and come to rest on its roof. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported,” VicPD said in a statement.

BC Emergency Health Services said four ambulances responded to the crash, with paramedics transporting three people to hospital, including one person in serious condition and two people in stable condition.

[4
49,48,44
post-845142","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-canada","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-news
["GET
