Jones, Blazers, Wolves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Appearing on DNVR Sports\u2019 Nuggets podcast (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mhQ9f9w5nmE&amp;t=1060s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">YouTube link<\/a>), NBA insider Marc Stein said he continues to hear that the Nuggets\u2018 offers to restricted free agent forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/watsope01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Peyton Watson<\/a> have been in the range of $16-18MM per year. Stein <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/07\/peyton-watson-considers-accepting-nuggets-6-5mm-qualifying-offer.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reported last week<\/a> that Denver\u2019s best offer to Watson at that point in his free agency had been in the neighborhood of $70MM over four seasons, which would work out to $17.5MM annually.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve consistently heard the offers are in the $16-to-$18MM range, in terms of annual average value,\u201d Stein said. \u201cYou can understand if you\u2019re in Peyton Watson\u2019s shoes, you wouldn\u2019t want that. You would want more. But the uncomfortable reality of restricted free agency is it\u2019s incumbent on the restricted free agent to go out and generate more. You guys see the same marketplace I do \u2014 how is he going to do that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Watson waits for his resolution on his restricted free agency, he has spent the offseason bulking up. He recently revealed an Instagram that he\u2019s up to 220 pounds after being listed last season at 200 (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DNVR_Nuggets\/status\/2084405848395350503\" rel=\"nofollow\">Twitter link<\/a> via DNVR Sports).<\/p>\n<p>We have more from around the Northwest:<\/p>\n<p>As Harrison Wind of The Denver Gazette relays (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HarrisonWind\/status\/2082660243176394790\" rel=\"nofollow\">via Twitter<\/a>), Nuggets forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jonessp01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Spencer Jones<\/a> provided some more insight into his free agency process in a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/skj21_finally-my-free-agency-is-over-it-was-a-activity-7488218829672599553-LufS\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">post on LinkedIn<\/a>, noting that he took the possibility of expansion in two years and a new CBA in three years into account as he considered how many seasons to sign for.<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thirdapron.com\/p\/ja-morant-portland-trail-blazers-future\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Yossi Gozlan of The Third Apron<\/a> (Substack link) takes a belated look at the Trail Blazers\u2018 acquisition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/moranja01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ja Morant<\/a> and considers what it means for the team moving forward. While Portland was able to buy low on Morant, the trade isn\u2019t without some potential downside, according to Gozlan, who notes that the former Grizzlies point guard didn\u2019t play especially well when he was available last season and will become part of a crowded backcourt rotation that new head coach Micah Nori will have to sort out.<br \/>\nAfter <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/07\/dazn-expected-to-stream-local-broadcasts-for-at-least-seven-nba-teams-in-2026-27.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">word broke last week<\/a> that a few more NBA teams were expected to join Brooklyn and New York in streaming their games via DAZN in 2026\/27, the Timberwolves became the first of those clubs to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/timberwolves\/news\/minnesota-timberwolves-and-dazn-launch-new-direct-to-fan-streaming-offering\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">formally confirm<\/a> an agreement with the sports streaming service.
