The Bangles<\/a> icon Susanna Hoffs has announced a new solo album featuring Rufus Wainwright<\/a> and many more.<\/p>\n

Entitled \u2018The List\u2019, the record sees Hoffs turn \u201cher deepest, decade-spanning memories\u201d into 12 songs with a guest heavy host of musicians including Semisonic<\/a>\u2019s Dan Wilson, Paul Simon<\/a>\u2018s wife Edie Brickell, Greg Leisz, Ryan Lerman, Desure, Jesse Harris, Ny Oh, Grant Milliken, Spencer Zahn and Larry Goldings.<\/p>\n

It is set to land on September 18 via Baroque Folk. You can pre-order it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first song from the record, \u2018Casablanca\u2019 has also been shared, which you can listen to below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Inspired both \u201cby a rewatch of the film Casablanca, and the surreal New Orleans encounter Susanna Hoffs had with the Grateful Dead<\/a>\u2018s Bob Weir in 1988 \u2013 a walk through the French Quarter, an impromptu parade of Dead Heads forming behind them \u2013 it is a song about possibility, and what might have been,\u201d according to a press release.<\/p>\n

The album was recorded in her LA home and produced by CJ Camerieri. Other tracks on the album include \u2018What Are Wings For\u2019 a musical adaptation of Hoffs\u2019 debut novel, This Bird Has Flown.<\/p>\n

Sung by the story\u2019s protagonist, Jane Start, it is \u201ca declaration of personal and artistic freedom, as Jane finds the courage to break free from expectation and claim her own moment in the spotlight, finding her own voice\u201d.<\/p>\n
