{"id":847395,"date":"2026-08-05T20:48:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T20:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/847395\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T20:48:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T20:48:10","slug":"canucks-elias-pettersson-spotted-training-in-la","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/847395\/","title":{"rendered":"Canucks\u2019 Elias Pettersson spotted training in LA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are just under two months away from the start of the 2026-27 season, and one <a class=\"text-accent\" href=\"https:\/\/canucksarmy.com\/vancouver-canucks-line-combinations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vancouver Canucks<\/a> forward is already on the ice preparing for the season.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, August 4, Elias Pettersson was seen training in Los Angeles at the Kings\u2019 practice facility.<\/p>\n<p>The video quality isn\u2019t perfect, so it\u2019s hard to identify who is on the ice, but we clearly see former Canucks teammate and current San Jose Sharks forward Tyler Toffoli with him. Along with Pettersson, there are players sporting Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Winnipeg Jets practice jerseys in the clip. We can also see a handful of players wearing Ontario Reign sweaters, as well as a BCHL jersey among the participants.<\/p>\n<p>You can watch the full eight-minute video below!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>This is to be taken with a grain of salt, as it is just a summer skate, but it looked as though Pettersson was having fun out there, which is a positive sign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Elias, we\u2019ve been through this as players,\u201d Co-President of Hockey Operations Daniel Sedin shared. \u201cYou\u2019re going to have some really good seasons, you\u2019re going to have some tough seasons. We\u2019ve found that after a long career, looking back, our best seasons we had, we were well prepared. That is everything you can control. It\u2019s how hard you work in the summer, mentally ready to get when training camp hits. I think that\u2019s the one message to him: preparation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s my initial thought on Elias: I want to wipe away all the expectations that may exist in him,\u201d said GM Ryan Johnson. \u201cJust like the rest of our hockey club, not just our players, but our staff. We\u2019re asking them to come into September the most prepared that they could be. For our players, it\u2019s going to be physically and mentally to make a decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pettersson, 27, is coming off the worst statistical season of his eight-year NHL career.
