{"id":84742,"date":"2025-08-20T22:43:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T22:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/84742\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T22:43:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T22:43:12","slug":"bryce-jarvis-up-hoffmann-optioned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/84742\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryce Jarvis up, Hoffmann optioned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-handed pitcher Bryce Jarvis from Triple-A and optioned reliever Andrew Hoffmann.<\/p>\n<p>The move gives the D-backs some length, with Jarvis stretched out and starting in Reno with 17 appearances and 70.1 innings of work so far this year. He carries an 8.19 ERA and a .313 opponent batting average <a href=\"https:\/\/www.milb.com\/player\/bryce-jarvis-686826\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">in the minors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jarvis has 63 games (one start) of MLB experience over the past three seasons. He brings a mid-90s mph fastball along with heavy usage of a slider and changeup.<\/p>\n<p>In eight games and 14.1 innings this year with Arizona, he has a 4.40 ERA and allowed seven earned runs, 13 hits and seven walks with 13 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll probably give him multi innings, keep him as stretched out as possible, try to get him 35-50 pitches per outing,\u201d manager Torey Lovullo said. \u201cThat\u2019s not always a perfect science.
