{"id":847450,"date":"2026-08-05T22:00:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T22:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/847450\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T22:00:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T22:00:11","slug":"4-year-old-airlifted-to-hospital-after-being-hit-by-a-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/847450\/","title":{"rendered":"4-year-old airlifted to hospital after being hit by a truck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A four-year-old child sustained serious injuries Friday evening after Ontario Provincial Police say they were struck by a pickup truck on a private campground access trail near <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/8JebEfX883tRknV87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/8JebEfX883tRknV87\">Boland Lake<\/a> in La Salle Township.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Officers responded to the remote campsite at approximately 6 p.m. on July 31, following a report of the collision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe investigation determined that the pickup truck had just begun moving from a parked position when it came into contact with the child,\u201d OPP said in a news release Aug. 5.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The child was transported from the scene by air ambulance for medical treatment. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/JQ2ZEATIMBHIBBX7QLAWHHXM4E.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"612\"\/>Child airlifted for medical treatment A four-year-old child was transported to hospital from a private campground access trail near Boland Lake in La Salle Township by air ambulance for medical treatment after Ontario Provincial Police say they were struck by a pickup truck on July 31, 2026. (Supplied\/Ontario Provincial Police) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police have confirmed the injuries are not life-altering, though specific details have not been released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI am unable to share any specifics; however, I can say that the injuries were determined to be non-life-altering,\u201d OPP Const.
