One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another was rushed to hospital after a shooting near Humberwest Pkwy. and Castlemore Rd. in Brampton. <\/p>\n
One man is dead and another suffered serious injuries following a shooting at a Brampton home on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
According to police, officers were called to a home on Bayhampton Drive, near Humberwest Parkway and Castlemore Road, for a reported shooting at around 8:40 p.m. <\/p>\n
When they arrived on scene, officers found two victims who had been shot. <\/p>\n
One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
Police said the shooting occurred inside a residence in the area and the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not have any suspect or vehicle information at this time, but we do believe this to be a targeted incident,\u201d Peel police said in an email to CP24. <\/p>\n
The homicide unit has taken carriage of the investigation. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not believe at this time that anyone else in the neighbourhood should feel unsafe,\u201d Const. Sarah Patten told CP24 on Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are urging anyone to check their cameras, check their dash cam footage, speak to officers that are canvassing the area with any concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n
Peel police confirmed they responded to a vehicle fire in the area on the morning of Feb. 20. Investigators determined that it was arson and charged a 24-year-old man.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this time, investigators are aware of a previous incident at the residence and are exploring the relationship, if any, between the events,\u201d Peel police said in an email to CP24 on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
