{"id":84841,"date":"2025-08-20T23:45:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T23:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/84841\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T23:45:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T23:45:11","slug":"unscripted-team-cut-including-nicole-vogel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/84841\/","title":{"rendered":"Unscripted Team Cut Including Nicole Vogel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEXCLUSIVE: More bad news for the unscripted television business: Lifetime has cut the majority of its non-scripted team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ae-networks-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ae-networks-2\" data-tag=\"ae-networks-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A+E Networks<\/a>-owned cable network has eliminated a number of positions, thought to be in the single digits, including VP, Programming and Development Nicole Vogel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt comes a <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/08\/lifetime-history-ae-networks-layoffs-1236039447\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">year after the company cut a number of senior figures including Amy Savitsky<\/a>, who was Lifetime\u2019s SVP Unscripted Development and Programming, and VPs Kim Chessler and Cat Rodriguez.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt also comes less than ten days before its biggest new unscripted launch: The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, which features the formerly incarcerated stars of USA Network\u2019s Chrisley Knows Best. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tVogel is the most senior figure on the unscripted team to be made redundant today. She<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2019\/05\/lifetime-names-nicole-vogel-vp-of-programming-and-development-1202608639\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> joined in 2019 from WE TV<\/a> and has worked on some of its biggest titles including The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, which reached nearly 10M viewers last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe also exec produces The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, which was in production when Todd and Julie were pardoned for a series of major financial crimes by President Trump, and Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out, a follow-up series that has just been <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/dr-pimple-popper-breaking-out-renewed-season-2-lifetime-1236485983\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">renewed for a second season<\/a> after previously airing a similar show on TLC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cNicole is one of the best network execs in the entire unscripted business,\u201d one producer told Deadline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe only remaining member of the unscripted team is now Brie Miranda Bryant, SVP, Original Programming, who has worked on series including Surviving R. Kelly, and will have a challenge on her hands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe move comes as Lifetime is focusing more on its television movie business. Titles include Girl in the Closet, Girl in the Attic, Girl in the Cellar and Brandy Norwood\u2019s Christmas Everyday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe network also just <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/02\/lifetime-orders-a-sorority-moms-guide-to-rush-unscripted-series-1236303143\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched A Sorority Mom\u2019s Guide to Rush from Vice Studios<\/a> and recently <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/03\/wwe-storage-wars-gabourey-sidibe-yaya-dacosta-lifetime-1236311011\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ordered four-part documentary The Judd Family: Truth Be Told.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt comes seven months after <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/01\/married-at-first-sight-peacock-1236249026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lifetime lost its unscripted crown jewel when Peacock snapped up the rights to wedding format Married At First Sight,<\/a> which ran for over 200 episodes across Lifetime and other A+E Networks channels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt was a major blow for the company, which has shepherded the show in the U.S. for the last ten years. The show, in which couples meet for the first time at the altar, launched on FYI in July 2014. The show started being simulcast on A&amp;E from season two and with season five it moved to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lifetime\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lifetime<\/a>, where it has aired ever since, through Season 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn fact,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/08\/married-at-first-sight-renewed-six-seasons-12-13-14-15-16-17-lifetime-unmatchables-spinoff-another-series-kinetic-content-1203001603\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lifetime handed the show a six-season order \u2013 one of its largest ever orders \u2013 in 2020<\/a>\u00a0as well as another spinoff and a blind commitment for another Kinetic project.
