{"id":848443,"date":"2026-08-06T18:00:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T18:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/848443\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T18:00:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T18:00:08","slug":"jamaicas-looking-forward-to-winter-with-400000-seats-from-canada-for-2026-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/848443\/","title":{"rendered":"Jamaica\u2019s looking forward to winter with 400,000 seats from Canada for 2026-2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO \u2014 Jamaica has confirmed some 400,000 seats from the Canadian market for the 2026-2027 winter season.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamaicaobserver.com\/2026\/08\/05\/jamaica-secures-400000-winter-seats-canada-several-airline-services-expand\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jamaica Observer<\/a>, the sizeable lift comes courtesy of extra capacity with Air Canada and WestJet Group including Sunwing Vacations, plus new flights from Porter Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>Porter\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelweek.ca\/news\/airlines\/porter-expands-winter-sun-network-by-150-adds-four-new-destinations-for-2026-27\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new flights<\/a>\u00a0include service to Montego Bay from Toronto (5x weekly starting Nov. 23), Ottawa (2x weekly starting Nov. 25) and Hamilton (2x weekly starting Dec. 20).<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica is aiming for 600,000 arrivals from Canada by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica\u2019s post-hurricane recovery saw the island pass the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelweek.ca\/news\/destinations\/jamaica-surpasses-one-million-visitors-in-q1-following-hurricane-melissa\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one million mark<\/a>\u00a0in Q1 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TORONTO \u2014 Jamaica has confirmed some 400,000 seats from the Canadian market for the 2026-2027 winter season.
