Mitch McConnell said on Thursday that he has been discharged from the rehabilitation center where he had been recovering after a fall and will continue to recover at home.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmshv88bt000b3b6rdv2fxlw5@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cEarlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home. Elaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I\u2019ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff,\u201d the Kentucky Republican said in a statement.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmshv88bt000c3b6rb9xj005p@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cOn the advice of my doctors, I\u2019ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I\u2019ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business,\u201d he added.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmshvoho000063b6rym8ccjoz@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The former Senate majority leader, who is 84 and not running for reelection, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/06\/14\/politics\/mitch-mcconnell-hospital\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">admitted to the hospital<\/a> on June 14, but his office did not disclose the reason for the hospitalization at the time.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmshvnbqf00013b6r6uydzmuw@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            In July, after weeks of speculation over his health status, McConnell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/07\/12\/politics\/mitch-mcconnell-hospital-announcement\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> that a fall had landed him in the hospital.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmshvsicq000u3b6r1c7axumh@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cMy doctors have confirmed that I didn\u2019t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn\u2019t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don\u2019t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I\u2019ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia,\u201d he said in a statement at the time.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmshvx3x4001d3b6renqx0f24@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The senator went on to say that he had been moved to a rehabilitation center to continue regaining his strength.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmshv436z001x27p52f298b9l@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            This story has been updated with additional information.\n    <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sen.
