Carrie Underwood<\/a>\u00a0is set to return as the voice of the \u201cSunday Night Football\u201d opening anthem, an announcement that has drawn varied reactions from NFL and country music fans alike.<\/p>\n

NBC announced this week that the country superstar will return for her 14th consecutive season to perform the iconic \u201cWaiting All Day for Sunday Night\u201d opening for SNF. <\/p>\n

The new opener debuts Sept. 13 ahead of the Dallas Cowboys\u2019 matchup against the New York Giants.<\/p>\n

The announcement was met with plenty of excitement from fans who have come to associate Underwood with Sunday nights.<\/p>\n

But not everyone was focused on celebrating the eight-time Grammy winner\u2019s return. <\/p>\n

Instead, several commenters began campaigning for rising country singer\u00a0Ella Langley, suggesting the \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d singer should eventually take over the role.<\/p>\n
