Audrey Nuna<\/a> has dropped the bold new single \u2018superHuman\u2019 \u2013 her first solo release in two years.<\/p>\n

The single is the first solo release from the Grammy-nominated Korean-American artist and songwriter since she dropped \u2018Trench\u2019 in 2024, and reached new artistic heights by providing the singing voice of Mira in the hit film KPop Demon Hunters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now looking to channel that momentum back into her own music, she has released the standalone single via Republic Records, and it embraces themes of redemption, validation and more.<\/p>\n

Made alongside renowned producer Cirkut (Rihanna<\/a>, Lady Gaga<\/a>), \u2018superHUman\u2019 keeps with Nuna\u2019s theme of blending genres, and incorporates bold nods to rap, pop, and R&B as she belts the line \u201cHey world, hit me with whatever you got\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018SuperHuman\u2019 is a portal,\u201d the singer shared. \u201cI wrote this song in a time in my life where a lot was changing very quickly, and I felt more perceived by the world than I ever had before.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to capture that feeling \u2013 of redemption, of validation, of the tides finally turning. In the same breath, I wanted to quietly remind myself and others to stay human, stay open, to flow like water through all of the changes and that being more human will always be a superpower if we allow it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The single comes in collaboration with Riot Games and marks Nuna\u2019s second collaboration with VALORANT \u2013 serving as an official track for the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour.<\/p>\n

Last month, Nuna launched her solo live show at Rock in Rio Lisboa, and since then has gone on to make appearances at Summerfest, Open\u2019er Festival, Roskilde Festival, Ruisrock and more.<\/p>\n

The live shows continue this month with two shows at Japan\u2019s Summer Sonic Festival, a slot at Frequency Festival in Austria, and Pukkelpop in Belgium. Visit here<\/a> for tickets.<\/p>\n

Back in 2021, Nuna spoke to NME for a feature<\/a>, and was praised as \u201cmodern R&B\u2019s new visionary cooking up a storm\u201d. Explaining why she wanted to integrate elements of rap into her music, she explained: \u201cSometimes there\u2019s a lot of words that I want to say. When you\u2019re writing a melody you have to fit what you\u2019re trying to say into a concise amount.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same year, her album \u2018A Liquid Breakfast\u2019 dropped and was given a glowing four-star review from NME<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPushing creative boundaries is an important part of Audrey Nuna\u2019s artistry and \u2018A Liquid Breakfast\u2019 puts her under the spotlight as someone with both fresh ideas and the talent to make them glow,\u201d it read. \u201c\u2018Everybody knows my name, what you want?\u2019 she spits at one point on \u2018Damn Right\u2019, a satire about people\u2019s love of talking shit. It might be sarcasm on the track but, in reality, it\u2019s a statement that seems destined to come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Kpop Demon Hunters, the huge success of the film has continued for over a year now, and it was recently confirmed that it has been watched more than twice as many times as Netflix\u2018s next most popular film<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It amassed a further 130million views during the first half of 2026 alone<\/a>, has inspired sold-out singalong screenings<\/a>, a McDonald\u2019s collaboration<\/a>, a forthcoming Criterion Blu-ray<\/a> and plans for a global concert tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A sequel has also been confirmed<\/a>, although it is not currently expected to arrive until 2029.<\/p>\n

The film contained the hit single \u2018Golden\u2019, which NME included among the 50 best songs of 2025<\/a>, praising the track\u2019s \u201cmelodic potency\u201d and its ability to stand out amid the year\u2019s abundance of viral hits.<\/p>\n

In May, the singing stars of\u00a0KPop Demon Hunters offered an emotional rebuke of the music industry while accepting the Women Of The Year award at the 2026 Billboard Women In Music event.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cFrom when I first started releasing music back in 2019 to this moment now, I really never identified with the boxes that Korean American women were expected to fit into. And quite frankly, I didn\u2019t even know how to even begin to try to fit into those boxes,\u201d Nuna shared.<\/p>\n
