{"id":849701,"date":"2026-08-07T18:36:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T18:36:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/849701\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T18:36:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T18:36:12","slug":"nascar-ceo-hopes-to-see-sport-become-must-have-for-broadcasters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/849701\/","title":{"rendered":"NASCAR CEO hopes to see sport become \u2018must-have\u2019 for broadcasters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-media \">NASCAR CEO Steve O\u2019Donnell said he wants to see the sport become a \u201cmust-have sport\u201d for broadcasters, whereas right now \u201cwe\u2019re a nice-to-have sport.\u201d O\u2019Donnell, joining \u201cRacin\u2019 With The Boys,\u201d said he wants NASCAR to be at a point where networks or digital streamers believe they \u201cbetter have NASCAR because that\u2019s where eyeballs are going to be.\u201d He noted attendance and branding being up but the \u201cbiggest thing\u201d for the league is \u201cseeing young people.\u201d O\u2019Donnell: \u201cAnd now with Amazon, Fox, everybody, we\u2019re seeing that younger demo grow. \u2026 Now we got to keep them. \u2026 How do we keep them going and keep them interested?\u201d O\u2019Donnell added NASCAR is \u201ca cool sport &#8230; a badass American sport.\u201d He said he wants to see improved communication with drivers to \u201cshow them what could be.\u201d O\u2019Donnell: \u201cLet\u2019s take the momentum and let\u2019s work together to grow. The fans are there.
