OPP say an officer observed a tractor-trailer braking abruptly, following too closely and forcing another vehicle off the roadway on Highway 17<\/p>\n
A commercial motor vehicle driver has been charged with six Highway Traffic Act offences.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, August 6, at\u00a03:35 p.m., a member of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police Crime Unit was travelling eastbound on Highway 17 in the Iron Bridge area when they observed a commercial motor vehicle in front of them being operated in an unsafe manner.<\/p>\n
The officer observed the tractor-trailer braking abruptly, following a vehicle too closely, and forcing the vehicle off the roadway.<\/p>\n
The officer initiated a traffic stop in the Town of Blind River.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with:<\/p>\n
\n\tCareless driving
\n\tFollow too closely
\n\tDrive left of centre – on a curve
\n\tDrive left of centre – approaching crest of grade
\n\tSpeeding
\n\tPossess more than one licence
<\/p>\n
