In the past few hours, a second excerpt from the series on the Montreal Canadiens’ rebuild has been released.<\/p>\n
It was Gary Bettman who accepted the Montreal Canadiens’ request for their player Cole Caufield<\/p>\n
It was indeed a very unusual situation, but Bettman immediately approved the request. Wow.<\/p>\n
“Johnny Gaudreau wore number 13.<\/p>\n
Now, Cole Caufield wants to honor his memory and have the same on his jersey.”<\/p>\n

“I asked Kent and Jeff if it was possible, and they told me they would have to contact the league (the NHL), because it’s not something that’s usually done.<\/p>\n
Obviously, tons of people had a jersey with number 22, but Gary Bettman accepted.<\/p>\n
It was really special for me to be able to do that in honor of Johnny.”<\/p>\n

Following this change, Cole signed more than 1,800 jerseys!<\/p>\n
