Thai rocker Nene Royal\u2019s latest performance on \u201dAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d \u2014 a rendition of Muse\u2019s \u201cHysteria\u201d \u2014 has surpassed one million views online within just 14 hours of its release.<\/p>\n
The full video of the Judges\u2019 Callbacks performance, released on the AGT YouTube channel four days earlier than originally scheduled, came with a note that the 16-year-old singer-guitarist from Phuket had \u201ccrushed\u201d the 2003 song by the English rock band from Devon.<\/p>\n
Nene Royal, whose real name is Rattikarn \u201cPraew\u201d Umloy, had told her growing legion of fans earlier that her Judges\u2019 Callbacks performance would be released on Tuesday. The early release also took her by surprise as she shared the video on Saturday, and said: \u201cOMG. Thank you very much #AGT.\u201d<\/p>\n
AGT introduced the Judges\u2019 Callbacks round this year, giving judges the opportunity to select standout contestants from the audition round to return for another performance and compete for a place in the Live Shows.<\/p>\n
Nene Royal chose Hysteria and thrilled the audience with a guitar solo featuring percussive techniques, bringing together her strengths in singing, guitar playing and stage presence.<\/p>\n
At the end of the performance, judge Howie Mandel asked: \u201cNene, tell me what you\u2019re thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think \u2026 I play perfect, right guys?\u201d Nene replied with a laugh, prompting cheers from the judges and audience.<\/p>\n
Guest judge Nikki Glaser described Nene\u2019s performance as something she wanted more of.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel so happy,\u201d Nene said backstage after the performance. \u201cIt\u2019s so amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Nene Royal passed the audition round with a unanimous four \u201cYes\u201d votes<\/a> after performing a live rendition of The Cranberries\u2019 Zombie on the NBC talent show.<\/p>\n Hysteria was one of the songs Nene had performed with her band OZONE while busking at the Naka Weekend Market in Phuket before her international breakthrough last month. Many fans had said it was a fitting song choice for this latest round.<\/p>\n
