The Haas Factory Team will add a third car for the 2027 NASCAR\u00a0O’Reilly Auto Parts Series schedule, signing Dean Thompson. They currently field the No. 00 with Sheldon Creed and the No. 41 with Sam Mayer.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old will have sponsorship from Thompson Pipe Group and MCM Transportation, while details regarding the car number and crew chief will be announced at a later date. It is a multi-year deal.<\/p>\n
“We’re excited to welcome Dean to Haas Factory Team, said Joe Custer, President of Haas Factory\u00a0Team. “He has shown strong progression throughout his time in the\u00a0O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and we believe he will compete at the highest level.\u00a0 Along with our growing affiliate program, the addition of a third full-time entry continues to strengthen our organization.\u201d<\/p>\n
Thompson is currently competing in his second full-time season as a NASCAR O’Reilly driver with Sam Hunt Racing. He has yet to win, but has one top five and ten top tens in 57 career starts (before Iowa).<\/p>\n
The California native also has 70 starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with two top fives and eleven top tens.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to join Haas Factory Team as the next step in my NASCAR journey,\u201d said Thompson. \u00a0\u201cI am looking forward to competing for wins and a championship with support from MCM Transportation and Thompson Pipe Group.\u201d<\/p>\n
Haas is a step up for Thompson from Sam Hunt Racing as the Gene Haas-led team has three NASCAR\u00a0O’Reilly wins since splintering off from Stewart-Haas Racing before the 2025 season. As Stewart-Haas, they won a total of 26 NASCAR O’Reilly races and the 2023 driver’s title with Cole Custer.<\/p>\n
Haas also fields a full-time entry in the NASCAR Cup Series with Custer behind the wheel of the No. 41 Chevrolet.<\/p>\n
