The celebrity gossip blogger remains hospitalized in Florida, where his condition is \u201cserious but stable,\u201d and he will require surgery in the coming days, according to his family.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a new statement shared on Hilton\u2019s website<\/a> Saturday, his family confirmed that he remains hospitalized under Florida\u2019s Baker Act, writing, \u201cHis communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers, and others directly involved in his care. He has not communicated with the media or issued any public statements.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe family also clarified that the only credible updates about Hilton\u2019s condition are those published directly on his website, PerezHilton.com.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPerez\u2019s condition remains serious but stable. He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days,\u201d the statement reads. \u201cHis treatment and recovery will be a long process. We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHilton\u2019s family also asked for privacy as he continues his recovery and for the media and public to stay away from their property. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe respectfully ask members of the media, paparazzi, content creators, and the public to\u00a0leave\u00a0the area surrounding the family\u2019s home and not return,\u201d the statement reads. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe latest statement follows an update from Thursday<\/a>, when Hilton\u2019s family revealed that his children were inside his home just minutes before his livestream.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe events of the past several days have been nearly unbearable for our family. Just minutes before the public livestream incident, Perez\u2019s children, niece, and sister were inside the home,\u201d the family wrote. \u201cWhen it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself, they immediately fled to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Tuesday night, Hilton was on a livestream where he was seen covered in blood and appeared to use an object to cut himself repeatedly. Clips of the livestream were re-shared on social media and went viral.<\/p>\n

\n\tDeputies responded to the 48-year-old\u2019s home after the Miami-Dade County Sheriff\u2019s Office received \u201cmultiple calls regarding an individual who was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe following day, Hilton\u2019s TikTok account was banned<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tHilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., rose to fame in the early 2000s after launching his controversial celebrity gossip blog.
