Hopes for a Final Fantasy 9 remake release date in the near future look grim. A veteran journalist shared that the Square Enix game has been indefinitely suspended. Unlike the Final Fantasy 7 trilogy, it would have been a more condensed modernization of the classic RPG. <\/p>\n

Alex Donaldson, co-founder of RPGSite, has provided another disappointing Final Fantasy 9 remake<\/a> update. The journalist claims that although development had reached an advanced stage, the project is now paused. Ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Square Enix game<\/a>, there were hopes for Final Fantasy 9 remake news. Instead, the publisher posted illustrations featuring popular characters like Zidane<\/a> and Vivi. Donaldson believes that some of the artwork was intended for box art.
