Nikki Wehbe, whose family runs the shop, told CBC earlier Sunday that someone turned it in and contacted police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The bike was <a data-ylk=\"slk:stolen from Shaw in July;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/ottawa\/ottawa-police-custom-bike-cerebral-palsy-stolen-9.7296111\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">stolen from Shaw in July<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The 54-year-old said the bike was made specially for him so that he could exercise and stay fit. The estimated cost of replacing it would have been more than $6,000, with about one-sixth of that coming out of his own pocket after insurance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Cerebral palsy refers to\u00a0<a data-ylk=\"slk:a group of brain disorders;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/canchild.ca\/diagnoses\/cerebral-palsy\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">a group of brain disorders<\/a>\u00a0that affect movement and posture. Shaw said he had the bike for 23 years, using it to participate in marathons and runs with his friends and family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Shaw told CBC in a previous interview he was preparing to participate in the Army Run in September, but doubted if that would happen without the bike.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police were searching for a suspect following the mid-July theft.
