\n\tStar Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma<\/a> is stepping into entertainment for the first time, fronting a new show set to launch in September on Sony Entertainment Television and streamer SonyLIV, as Sony Pictures Networks India<\/a> unveiled an expansive content slate spanning fiction, reality, sports and regional programming.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe have announced a show with active India cricket star Rohit Sharma. And Rohit will start anchoring and presenting his own show on SET and SonyLIV in September,\u201d said Gaurav Banerjee, managing director and CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe slate\u2019s marquee title is \u201cKaun Banega Crorepati\u201d Season 18,\u201d which premiered on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV under the new campaign line \u201cSochna Padega.\u201d As revealed by Variety<\/a>, the new season, hosted by Indian cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan, is the franchise\u2019s first to be crafted with artificial intelligence, shifting the show\u2019s focus from trivia recall toward reasoning under pressure.<\/p>\n

\n\tTop Bollywood star Ajay Devgn<\/a> will host true-crime series \u201cCrime Patrol 2026,\u201d bringing real-life cases to viewers through the franchise\u2019s established storytelling format. Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa will host comedy format \u201cIndian Game Show,\u201d bringing celebrities together for a series of challenges.<\/p>\n

\n\tBollywood icon Madhuri Dixit Nene will front \u201cKon Honar Crorepati,\u201d the Marathi-language edition of the \u201cKaun Banega Crorepati\u201d format, which is the Indian adaptation of \u201cWho Wants to be a Millionaire?\u201d Banerjee said Dixit Nene \u201chas broken the glass ceiling more than once, and we are really confident that she can and she will be able to do this again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman<\/a> will lead \u201cTamil Idol,\u201d the first Tamil-language version of the singing competition format, searching for Tamil Nadu\u2019s next major vocal talent. SonyLIV will also stream \u201cMasterChef Tamil,\u201d featuring star Samantha Ruth Prabhu.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso joining the lineup is \u201cScam 2010,\u201d a production from Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment and SonyLIV, helmed by Indian National Film Award winning director Hansal Mehta and starring Pratik Gandhi, which has begun shooting. The show had drawn a legal challenge from Sahara India Pariwar<\/a> following its announcement in May 2025. Asked by Variety whether the dispute had been resolved, Banerjee said, \u201cI believe so.\u201d Sony LIV will additionally carry the digital and television premiere of \u201cHaiwaan,\u201d Priyadarshan\u2019s upcoming film starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, following its theatrical release.<\/p>\n

\n\tSony Sports Network will complement the entertainment offering with its Festival of Sports, an Aug. 15-Dec. 1 window covering India\u2019s cricket tour of Sri Lanka, the Women\u2019s T20 Asia Cup cricket, the Asian Games and India\u2019s all-format cricket tour of New Zealand.<\/p>\n
