{"id":85458,"date":"2025-08-21T05:29:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T05:29:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/85458\/"},"modified":"2025-08-21T05:29:05","modified_gmt":"2025-08-21T05:29:05","slug":"alyson-stoner-wants-to-normalize-on-set-mental-health-coordinators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/85458\/","title":{"rendered":"Alyson Stoner Wants To Normalize On-Set Mental Health Coordinators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/alyson-stoner\/\" id=\"auto-tag_alyson-stoner\" data-tag=\"alyson-stoner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alyson Stoner<\/a> is taking the trauma they endured as a child actor and helping other kids take control of their <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/mental-health\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mental-health\" data-tag=\"mental-health\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mental health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/disney-channel\/\">Disney Channel<\/a> star recently opened up about their work as an on-set mental health coordinator, which they hope to see normalized along the lines of intimacy coordinators, noting that mental health resources are important \u201cnot just for kids in Hollywood, but also kids online.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHaving performed since age 8, Stoner recalled to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/tv-and-radio\/2025\/aug\/20\/alyson-stoner-interview-stalkers-sexualisation-rejection\">The Guardian<\/a> they eventually \u201ccould no longer feel emotions, let alone portray them,\u201d leading to a diagnosis with alexithymia, a difficulty in identifying emotions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tStoner explained the disorder was \u201ca response to accidentally traumatising myself on all of these auditions, and following the guidance of adults who had acting manuals that encouraged it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCalling child stardom the \u201ctoddler to train-wreck pipeline,\u201d Stoner recounts their adolescent experience in the industry in their new memoir Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cMy intention is less focused on trying to name, shame and blame individuals, and more to empower people with information,\u201d they explained. \u201cI\u2019m choosing to believe that once we know more and know better, we will choose better, especially for children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMaking their onscreen debut as the co-host of <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/disney\/\" id=\"auto-tag_disney\" data-tag=\"disney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Disney<\/a> Channel\u2019s Mike\u2019s Super Short Show in 2001, Stoner went on to appear in episodes of The Suite Life of Zack &amp; Cody and That\u2019s So Raven, as well as the Cheaper by the Dozen and Camp Rock movies.
