Petal marks Grande\u2019s first release under BabyDoll Music, her personal record label and imprint launched under her home label Republic Records earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the album\u2019s release, Grande described petal as \u201csomething that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.\u201d The rollout has been shrouded public scrutiny, as Grande announced that she would be taking a step back<\/a> from the spotlight following the completion of her latest tour including high-profile recent dates in Montreal<\/a>. But it comes amidst another major chart feat.<\/p>\n \n All 12 tracks from petal are charting in the top 40 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100<\/a>, led by the album\u2019s lead single, \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me,\u201d which climbs from No. 9 to No. 2 in its 10th week charting. It doesn’t quite knock off Ella Langley\u2019s chart juggernaut \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d which spends a 14th week at No. 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Grande\u2019s album title track, \u201cPetal,\u201d debuts at No. 5, becoming her 24th top 10 hit. Wrapped in Whitcomb’s emotional vocals, \u201cWant For Nothing\u201d captures the feeling of being content with people and moments that matter most. <\/p>\n Anchoring the \u201cend of his debut era,\u201d Whitcomb\u2019s extended album helps push The Hard Way to hit a new peak at No. 14, moving up three spots from last week\u2019s Aug. 8-dated chart.
