Dennis Bell, who is also volunteering with the event, said he was introduced to the Rolling Barrage last year and wanted to help bring more attention to its work.

“As a first responder and previous member of the Canadian Armed Forces,” Bell said, “I thought it’s a great organization.”

Bell noted that the riders travel roughly 600 kilometres each day during the journey, making the final stop an opportunity for the community to show its support.

“What I would like to see is as many people coming out to support them on the last leg of their journey, and to show them that we really do care and appreciate all their efforts,” he said.

The event isn’t just about recognizing and celebrating the effort it takes to complete the ride, but also the people behind the cause.

“I think it’s important for the community to come out to support not just first responders, but also members of the Canadian Armed Forces that are deployed within the country, but also all across the world,” he said, also recognizing local first responders, including Langley City Fire, Township of Langley Fire, and Langley paramedics.

President Debra Gray, of the local Royal Canadian Legion Branch #265, said the members are excited to welcome the riders back for their final stop on their east-to-west journey.

The legion has raised money for the Rolling Barrage throughout the year through 50/50 draws, raffles, and donations from members. Gray said the branch has donated about $13,000 each year for the past three years. This year, they have surpassed that amount.

When the riders arrive, a courtesy bus will pick them up from their hotel and bring them to the legion. A barbecue will be served that evening, followed by speeches and awards in the legion lounge.

The legion will also have Dead Frog Brewery’s Rolling Barrage anniversary beer available. The beer was created earlier this year to fundraise for the Rolling Barrage Foundation.

“We completely support the Rolling Barrage as their journey across Canada raises awareness of PTSD as well as how much this ride means to all the riders that participate,” Gray said.

“This is their 10th anniversary, and we have been told that they have 170 full pullers this year.”

Doug Hadley, service officer with the Aldergrove legion, said he looks to support anything that raises funds to help Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress.

“The big thing is trying to get post-traumatic stress identified and get the help,” Hadley said.

Last year’s arrival was memorable for Hadley.

“It’s such a very heartwarming situation when you see that many veterans, non-veterans that are fully supportive of the program,” he said.

Hadley hopes to see even more community involvement from the Aldergrove community this year.

Bell also hopes for Aldergrove and Langley residents to come out and see the riders as they complete the final leg of their journey.

The Rolling Barrage is scheduled to arrive at the Aldergrove legion at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22.

“We will all be standing of the road anxiously awaiting the rumble of all their bikes,” said Gray.

People can find more information about the Rolling Barrage at therollingbarrage.com/.

READ MORE: The Rolling Barrage journeys into healing

READ MORE: Langley brews support for those who serve

READ MORE: Perogy fundraiser wraps-up in Aldergrove

VIDEO: B.C. first responders and legion welcomes the Rolling Barrage Published 5:45 pm Tuesday, August 11, 2026 Rumbling…

[194299
49,48,87674
post-855277","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-surrey","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-surrey
["GET
