{"id":855648,"date":"2026-08-12T18:42:07","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T18:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/855648\/"},"modified":"2026-08-12T18:42:07","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T18:42:07","slug":"playstation-announces-story-expansion-survival-mode-for-ghost-of-yotei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/855648\/","title":{"rendered":"PlayStation announces story expansion, survival mode for &#8216;Ghost of Yotei&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Aug. 12 (UPI) &#8212; PlayStation announced on Wednesday that a new narrative expansion and a survival mode is coming to hit open-world samurai game, Ghost of Yotei.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The <a data-ylk=\"slk:new content;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.playstation.com\/2026\/08\/12\/ghost-of-yotei-complete-edition-comes-to-ps5-october-1\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">new content<\/a> will be a part of Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition, which releases for the PlayStation 5 on Oct. 1 for $69.99.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Players who already own Ghost of Yotei can upgrade to the complete edition for $14.99 to receive the expansion and survival mode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The narrative expansion, titled Echoes of Sekigahara, follows main character Atsu as she reunites with a figure from her past. The expansion will be split between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu&#8217;s past. Fans will also get to explore a previously unseen valley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The survival mode, titled Most Wanted, is a single-player combat mode with roguelike elements. Players will go on combat runs where they can receive upgrades and perks as they take down enemies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition will also include new trophies for players to earn, weapons and armor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ghost of Yotei, from developer Sucker Punch Productions, was released for the PlayStation 5 in October 2025.
