6-year-old child killed in Abbotsford parking lot collision<\/p>\n

A parking lot collision in Abbotsford on Thursday afternoon (Aug. 13) has left a six-year-old boy dead.<\/p>\n
Abbotsford Police Department said the incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Allwood Place (32633 Simon Ave.) townhouse complex.<\/p>\n
The young pedestrian was reportedly struck by an SUV and died despite life-saving efforts from witnesses and first responders.<\/p>\n
The driver remained on-site and is cooperating with authorities as they investigate the circumstances of the tragic incident.<\/p>\n
The entrance to the townhouse complex is closed while police conduct the investigation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Abbotsford Police Department extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the child involved in this tragic incident,\u201d said APD media relations officer Sgt. Paul Walker.<\/p>\n
