Actor Sunny Deol<\/a> has been busy promoting his new film, Batwara 1947. For the same, the veteran star undertook a massive nationwide city tour along with the film\u2019s cast and director Rajkumar Santoshi<\/a>. One of the final stops in the tour was Kolkata, where he interacted with fans at an event. But apart from some Batwara talks, Sunny stunned fans with a rather unbelievable crossover. The actor obliged a fan, recreating a dialogue from the animated show Oggy and the Cockroaches, which was dubbed in \u2018his voice\u2019 originally.<\/p>\n

In videos shared from the stage at the Kolkata event for Batwara 1947, Sunny addresses a large, packed auditorium when a fan asks him to say a line. Explaining the context, the fan tells the actor about Oggy and the Cockroaches. \u201cThere is a line in it in your voice, sir, where the character says, \u2018Oye main papa hoon, duniya ka papa (I am the daddy, world\u2019s daddy). Please can you say that in your style.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sunny first smiles at the request and says, \u201cI haven\u2019t watched it, but you are saying he says, \u2018main papa hoon, duniya ka papa\u2019. So let me try.\u201d The actor then recreated the line in Hindi and Punjabi in his signature bold style to loud cheers from the crowd.<\/p>\n

The internet goes into a meltdown<\/p>\n

The video of Sunny giving Oggy and the Cockroaches a shoutout in this manner went viral on Instagram in no time. Many comments expressed disbelief. \u201cNow I can die peacefully,\u201d chirped one. Another said, \u201cWe got Sunny paaji saying Jack\u2019s line before GTA VI.\u201d Others took it further and joked that this style would look funny for Sunny\u2019s next character. The actor plays Lord Hanuman in Ramayana. \u201cImagine him saying to Ravana-Oye utha utha k patkunga tod dunga fod dunga oye..main papa hun iss Lanka ka Papa,\u201d joked one social media user.<\/p>\n

Oggy and the Cockroaches and its India connect<\/p>\n

Oggy and the Cockroaches was an animated series created in Canada by Jean-Yves Raimbaud and produced by Gaumont Multimedia. It aired from 1998 to 2019 across seven seasons. It began airing on Nickelodeon in India in 2009. In 2012, it was acquired by Cartoon Network for India, acquiring Bollywood-style voiceovers, with Jack, a green cat, voiced in the style of Sunny Deol. The series and its voice acting proved extremely popular in India, making the show part of the country’s pop culture.<\/p>\n

Sunny Deol\u2019s Batwara 1947<\/p>\n

Helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film stars Sunny Deol as a Muslim man who moves to Pakistan during Partition, only to find a Hindu woman, played by Shabana Azmi, still living in his new home. As tensions rise, he takes responsibility for protecting her while keeping his family safe. The film also stars Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare, and Kanikka Kapur.
