Though the pair of title fights atop the card understandably garnered most of the attention ahead of time, the rest of the card proved a little underrated. Some of the veterans exceeded expectations, and a handful of undercard unknowns showed some real talent! In reality, the top two fights of the evening were probably the least fun of the lot if still the most important.

Let’s take a closer look at the best performances and highlight finishes of the evening:

<img alt="PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - AUGUST 15: (R-L) Islam Makhachev of Russia kicks Ian Machado Garry of Ireland in the UFC welterweight championship fight during the UFC 330 event at Xfinity Mobile Arena on August 15, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Whenever Makhachev wanted, he could get to Garry’s lead leg (which ultimately proved a fatal flaw for the Irishman). However, Garry was well-equipped to counter by sitting out and cutting an angle, which negated the takedown on a couple of occasions. Equally important, Makhachev could not actually hold down Garry, who stood up about a dozen times after various takedowns and mat returns.

The real end result? However, there were two definitive moments where the momentum really shifted, and both belonged to Makhachev. In the second, he broke a clinch with a lovely high kick that rocked Garry, allowing Makhachev to establish some control time without having to waste energy wrangling the lanky striker to the floor. In the fifth, Makhachev committed to a brilliant inside throw that landed Garry flat on his belly, halting his movement for a moment and finally allowing Makhachev to jump on his back.

In an extremely competitive fight, a couple big moments make all the difference.

<img alt="PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - AUGUST 15: (L-R) Mackenzie Dern grapples Gillian Robertson of Canada in the UFC strawweight championship fight during the UFC 330 event at Xfinity Mobile Arena on August 15, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The knock against the current Strawweight champion is that those moments are not necessarily cohesive or consistent. There’s a lot of sloppiness in her game, which still works more often than not because of her athleticism and BJJ prowess.

For about six minutes, Dern appeared to fully level up against Gillian Robertson. Dern was throwing crisp straight punches with great consistency, and she even started adding a nice left hook into her offense. Genuinely, her boxing has never looked better than the opening of this fight. As a result of her effective and improved boxing, Dern was able to time her double leg easily and run over Robertson.

On the canvas, Dern is always a joy to watch. She flows between positions brilliantly and nearly wrapped up a rear naked choke in the closing seconds of the first. Had the fight ended there, I would be solely writing about Dern’s improvement and probably label her a real threat to the likes of Zhang Weili.

Sadly, the fight continued.

Dern’s inconsistency reared its ugly head. In round two, she spent three straight minutes in a needless leg lock battle rather than just taking top position. In round three, she got a little tired, struggled to wrestle, and arguably started losing the standup outright. Dern rebounded in the fourth with a bit of aggression and some body triangle stalling, but she spent the entire fifth frame lying on her back and waiting for the decision win.

Though it’s still a successful title defense, 18 out of the 25 minutes were neither impressive nor fun.

<img alt="PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - AUGUST 15: (R-L) Jalin Turner punches Kaue Fernandes of Brazil in a lightweight fight during the UFC 330 event at Xfinity Mobile Arena on August 15, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In five fights, Turner lost two highly competitive split-decisions, nearly killed King Green, and then subsequently failed to perform in two more losses. Turner lost his instinct for violence in those later losses, and it’s understandable to take a step back.

Being halfway in on combat sports is bad for one’s longterm health.

Fortunately, Turner appears to have solved his mental demons. After smashing Edson Barboza back in December, Turner wasted zero time in smoking rising contender Kaue Fernandes. He did not allow the vaunted kicker to establish his distance, instead pressuring Fernandes and making him uncomfortable. When Fernandes tried to back him off with a spin, Turner jumped on him violently.

An uppercut floored Fernandes, and ground strikes put him to sleep in less than 40 seconds.

Now that Turner has rebuilt his confidence and seemingly found that killer instinct once more, it’s time to reintroduce him to Top 15 competition. That’s the great thing about playing matchmaker for Turner: it’s almost impossible to book him in a boring fight.

<img alt="PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - AUGUST 15: Mansur Abdul-Malik of the United States is punched by Dustin Stoltzfus of the United States in a middleweight bout during UFC 330 at Xfinity Mobile Arena on August 15, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Back on March 28, Abdul-Malik faced the massive kickboxing ace Yousri Belgaroui in an obviously awful matchup and got absolutely abused, battered from pillar-to-post for most of 15 minutes en route to a late stoppage. It was one of the year’s nastiest beatdowns, and less than five full months later, Abdul-Malik was back in the cage.

He should fire his manager.

Dustin Stoltzfus didn’t have a single athletic advantage, but he still beat the crap out of Abdul-Malik. The two have trained together previously, which seemed to help Stoltzfus find his timing early on. As soon as he landed a good counter right hand, Stoltzfus was able to time a takedown and reveal the gap in skill on the canvas. From top position, he smashed Abdul-Malik with hammering ground strikes.

By round two, Abdul-Malik was damaged but still dug deep. He hurt Stoltzfus with front kicks and clinch knees. There’s still no quit in Abdul-Malik. Unfortunately for the prospect, Stoltzfus is an absolute dog as well. When he hung tough and hurt Abdul-Malik in return, he was able to move the fight to the canvas and force the finish.

Just like that, Abdul-Malik has lost twice in less than six months. He’s taken a ton of damage, and his momentum is erased. There was no reason for Abdul-Malik to return so quickly, not when he clearly needs more experience and more time in the gym if he’s to seriously make a run up the Middleweight rankings.

After two violent losses, who knows if that potential still exists.

<img alt="PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - AUGUST 15: Edson Barboza of Brazil prepares to face Esteban Ribovics of Argentina in a lightweight fight during the UFC 330 event at Xfinity Mobile Arena on August 15, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was pushing a hard pace from the first bell, constantly attacking. While doing so, Ribovics mixed up his offense, using kicks to set up punches, ripping the body from the clinch, and closing forward with elbows. He soundly out-boxed the veteran, rocking him several times before the second-round mercy stoppage from the referee.

I’d rather talk about the toughness of 40-year-old Barboza.

Round One did not go well for the Brazilian veteran. He was cut open, rocked, and then his shin split into a bloody gash a la Luke Rockhold at the end of his career. Despite all the adversity, Barboza still answered the bell with a look of determination in his eyes. Even after all these wars, there was no quit in the heart of the Brazilian. He was never going to win this fight and found little success, but there’s still a lot to admire in the longtime Lightweight contender’s final performance.

Enjoy retirement, Edson. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC)

Charles Johnson defeats Eduardo Chapolin via third-round Scottish twister: I walked away impressed with both men for different reasons. Chapolin stepped up on less than week’s notice and really took the fight to Johnson, showing off tight kickboxing and nearly knocking out the veteran in the second. When his gas tank started to falter, Johnson turned up the heat in very impressive fashion. Then, the Scottish twister in the finishing sequence was beautiful work, a trap perfectly set up and executed in just a handful of seconds. Johnson may not be a perfect fighter, but he’s an elite opportunist, the rare fighter who can consistently make the most of a moment.Donte Johnson defeats Eric McConico via first-round knockout: Johnson is an athlete. He throws wild and wide, which got him caught early by a stiff McConico jab. A moment later, McConico was starched by a left hand straight to the jawline that immediately flattened him. “Lockjaw” improved to 3-0 in the UFC in just about 90 seconds, so while I wouldn’t label him a blue-chip prospect necessarily, the 27 year old is definitely one to watch.Lucas Fernando defeats Rafael Tobias via third-round knockout (highlights): Relatively few fight fans knew the name Lucas Fernando prior to this UFC debut, but the LFA champion really impressed here. He picked apart Tobias, methodically breaking him down at every level en route to the knee-to-the-midsection KO. He built his combinations in classic Muay Thai fashion, pairing punches with kicks beautifully to really take apart the lead leg. It was composed and violent work from the 6’3” newcomer, who is a welcome addition to the Light Heavyweight division.Neil Magny defeats Ramiz Brahimaj via second-round knockout (highlights): Neil Magny is an icon! Everybody knows how he wins fights, and yet so many skilled prospects fall into his traps. Brahimaj, a jiu-jitsu black belt, couldn’t help but grapple Magny, and he found his way to top position early in the fight. Magny is really good at making his opponent work, however, and Brahimaj began to slow down. As soon as Magny reversed his way into top position, he poured on ground strikes and his fatigued opponent just couldn’t fight back. Magny deserves a lot of credit for spending time in bad positions without losing faith or taking serious damage, allowing him to so consistently pull off comebacks in the second half of grueling fights.Jeremiah Wells defeats Mytybek Orolbai via third-round ninja choke (highlights): UFC 330 began with a massive upset! Orolbai has been an overwhelming combination of strength and wrestling throughout his UFC career and entered the card unbeaten at 170 pounds. Wells, a physical standout in his own right, was able to resist the takedown for a time and land some big shots early on. When Orolbai gained top position midway through the first, however, he really took control and began to beat up his opponent on the canvas. His wrestling dominance continued into the second, but Wells was still fresh in round three. He popped Orolbai with a right and then wrangled the neck, securing a huge win in front of his home crowd at 39 years of age — that’s a hell of a moment! Wells has proven himself underrated. Now 6-2 in the UFC, Wells’ pair of losses break down to an iffy split decision and a third-round rally in a fight he was otherwise dominating. He’s legit! For complete UFC 330 results and play-by-play, click here.

Last night (Sat., Aug. 15, 2026), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ventured forth to Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia,…

[444
49,48,641,33601,638,82,266658,139445,702,7788
post-860021","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mma","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-fighting","tag-latest-ufc-mma-news","tag-mma","tag-sports","tag-ufc-330","tag-ufc-on-paramount","tag-ufc-news","tag-ufc-results
["GET
