Cormier stated, \u201cBut the reality is, there was a lot of pressure on him to go out there and win this fight. To think about Islam Makhachev winning 17 fights in a row is absolutely insane. No one ever thought that Anderson Silva\u2019s record would be broken, and Islam did that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cormier also added that most fighters would be ecstatic after defending the belt in a second weight class. But since Makhachev is built differently, he will have a critical take on his latest bout.
