{"id":861450,"date":"2026-08-17T15:28:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T15:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/861450\/"},"modified":"2026-08-17T15:28:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T15:28:09","slug":"man-in-court-accused-of-attempted-murder-at-asylum-hotel-in-surrey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/861450\/","title":{"rendered":"Man in court accused of attempted murder at asylum hotel in Surrey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a welfare officer at a hotel used to house asylum seekers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Abdifatah Yusuf Adani, 22, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cy4kkzyde8mo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">alleged to have stabbed the staff member five times<\/a> with a large kitchen knife at the Stanwell Hotel in Surrey, near Heathrow Airport, at about 18:30 BST on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Adani appeared at Staines Magistrates&#8217; Court earlier and communicated via a Somali translator.
