Search and rescue officials say they’ve found a plane in the Kawartha Lakes region where a pilot is believed to have gone missing after flying in the area last week. <\/p>\n

In a post to social media platform X Monday, the Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), which coordinates air and marine search and rescue operations across Ontario, said a plane was found on Wolf Lake in Queen Elizabeth II Provincial Park, which is about a 45-minute drive north of the Kawartha Lakes municipality.<\/p>\n

The case is now with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as a missing person’s case, the JRCC said in its post. It did not directly specify whether the plane belonged to the missing 73-year-old pilot, identified by police as David. <\/p>\n

Durham police said in a post on X Saturday that David left the Oshawa Airport in the plane at 8:30 a.m. Friday and was expected to return at 9:30 a.m. <\/p>\n
