Former MMA champion set to defend Thrash Wrestling belt at Penticton show<\/p>\n

Some of Canada\u2019s top professional wrestling stars are coming back to Penticton.<\/p>\n

Thrash Wrestling \u2014 known as the top promotion across the Thompson-Okanagan and Kootenays \u2014 brings its next show, \u201cKnee Jerk Reaction,\u201d to the Luso Multicultural Centre on Friday night, Aug. 21.<\/p>\n

Former MMA champion and Edmonton\u2019s own Chase Degenhardt will be among those slated to fight in a championship tilt.<\/p>\n

Degenhardt, who won MMA\u2019s ZP Vacant Middleweight Championship in 2015, is set to defend his BC Championship belt in Penticton against Jordan James.<\/p>\n

Other matches on the card include veteran Riea Von throwing down against the \u201chigh-flying\u201d luchador Halcon Negro and Luchador Ginha, the current Thrash Wrestling Champion, battling Shreddz, according to show promoter Nick Szalanski.<\/p>\n

Expect Rayden to also challenge one half of the Thrash Tag Team Champions, Collin Cutler, in a singles match, Szalanski added.<\/p>\n

Tickets for this Friday\u2019s show can be purchased for $25 in advance and are available online at ticketseller.ca<\/a> or at Urge3 Tattoos in Penticton (284 Main St.).<\/p>\n

Any remaining tickets are $30 at the door.<\/p>\n

\u201cKnee-Jerk Reaction\u201d is an all-ages event, with a licensed concession area for those age 19 and up.<\/p>\n

Doors open Friday at 6:30 p.m. and the bell rings at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Thrash Wrestling has long considered Penticton one of its flagship locations. Every year, the promotion also packs the much larger Penticton Trade and Convention Centre (PTCC).<\/p>\n
