He comes off as this big, intimidating guy but he\u2019s a big scared f\u2014\u2014 child\u2026 You can tell by how scared he is, holding him that tight.\u201d<\/p>\n Nate Diaz reveals what his game plan would\u2019ve been for fighting Khamzat Chimaev<\/p>\n After watching how dominant Khamzat Chimaev was at UFC 319, the top middleweight contenders will now be focused on trying to stop the champion\u2019s takedown attempts.<\/p>\n Nate Diaz, however, revealed that this wouldn\u2019t have been his approach to their cancelled 2022 fight at UFC 279.<\/p>\n Diaz stated on Sneako\u2019s stream that it wasn\u2019t smart to try and match Chimaev in the wrestling because he would be at a disadvantage.<\/p>\n Instead, he planned to welcome \u2018Borz\u2019 to the ground and accept the fact that he\u2019d likely lose a decision, using his time to try and damage or submit Chimaev from the bottom rather than getting back up to his feet.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re gonna lose a decision anyway so learn how to fight there. Put him in your closed guard and f\u2014\u2014beat the f\u2014 out of him.
