The second seed is yet to drop a set in Ohio and has been flawless in her approach to matches. After Aryna Sabalenka’s fourth round exit, it now means Rybakina is two wins away from becoming the new world number one. It would be a stunning achievement for Rybakina who has had a mixed season since claiming the Australian Open title as she looks ahead to more Grand Slam success in New York.

A rematch of the Toronto final from last week now awaits Rybakina as she takes on Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals. The seventh seed has continued her good form from Canada and has been ruthless in her approach. In the sets she has won, Swiatek has only lost 11 games and has played some clinical tennis along the way. It has been especially impressive as she is the defending champion this week and hasn’t felt the pressure and burden of that achievement. Now, Swiatek will aim to repeat the achievement of last Thursday as she looks to reach the last four in Ohio.

Rybakina will aim to serve aggressively and will use the forehand to put Swiatek on the backfoot. Meanwhile Swiatek will use the backhand to counter-attack Rybakina’s attacking play and will aim to punish Rybakina on the second serve. This match is too close to call with both players playing aggressive and confident tennis. The achievement of being number one may be the spark needed for Rybakina to increase her level from last week.

Prediction: Rybakina in three sets.

Flavio Cobolli [7] v Tommy Paul [18] H2H & Match FundamentalsFlavio Cobolli [7] v Tommy Paul [18]H2H: Cobolli leads 1-0 Cincinnati 2026 Cincinnati, USAHard (O) Prize Money: $193,645Third on P&G Stadium Court (Not before 20:00 BST) Sky/Now TV <- Subscription Required

Tennis is all about confidence and that is what Flavio Cobolli has. The Italian continues to show what he is capable of after his run to the Roland Garros final. An incredible comeback win over Alexander Blockx was backed up with a win over Rafael Jodar in a stunning three set contest. Not only does Cobolli have the power from the baseline, the Italian is now showing that grit needed to go deep in tournaments. The Italian will now fancy his chances of going all the way in Cincinnati as he builds momentum towards the US Open.

Next up for Cobolli is American Tommy Paul who won the last four games to knock out top seed and former champion Alexander Zverev. The American has always been consistent and displayed the tools to defeat the best players in the world. However, Paul hasn’t always been able to do it when it matters most and put those wins together in a big tournament. The 18th seed will be hoping that trend stops in Cincinnati as he searches for a rare Masters 1000 semi-final.

Cobolli will aim to use the forehand to dominate the baseline rallies and will look to return well. There will need to be a high first serve percentage from Paul as he will use the backhand to find angles on the court and will use variety to bring Cobolli into the net. This will be a tough match for both players who will try different things to expose errors from each other’s game. Another long match awaits with Paul continuing the momentum from his win over Zverev.

Prediction: Paul in three sets.

Jessica Pegula [3] v Amanda Anisimova [9] H2H & Match FundamentalsJessica Pegula [3] v Amanda Anisimova [9]H2H: Pegula leads 5-0 Cincinnati 2026 Cincinnati, USAHard (O) Prize Money: $154,210Second on P&G Stadium Court (Not before 18:00 BST)Sky/Now TV <- Subscription Required

It’s been a fairly successful American hard court swing for Jessica Pegula so far. The American is back into the quarter-finals after a three set win over Sorana Cirstea. It was a dramatic contest but Pegula is back into the last eight and is aiming to continue her good form. Having been a finalist in Cincinnati in the past, Pegula is hoping to go one step further this year and continue to build momentum towards the US Open after a positive performance in New York last year.

The next challenge for Pegula is a blockbuster quarter-final meeting with Amanda Anisimova. It was a sublime and sensational performance from Anisimova who outclassed Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova in straight sets. After some turbulent times this season, Anisimova has played some outstanding tennis this week and has hit form at the right time. Ahead of defending her final points at the US Open, Anisimova is hoping to continue her emphatic form in order to finally defeat Pegula after five consecutive defeats.

Pegula will look to serve aggressively and will use variety to disrupt Anisimova’s confidence from the baseline. Meanwhile, Anisimova will aim to be aggressive on return and will use the backhand to pin Pegula behind the baseline. This will be an intriguing contest with both players feeling confident in their game so far. There is a feeling given her level of tennis this week that Anisimova may finally get one over Pegula.

Prediction: Anisimova in three sets.

Arthur Fils [21] v Thiago Agustin Tirante H2H & Match FundamentalsArthur Fils [21] v Thiago Agustin TiranteH2H: First Meeting Cincinnati 2026 Cincinnati, USAHard (O) Prize Money: $193,645Fifth on P&G Stadium Court (Not before 01:30 BST) Sky/Now TV <- Subscription Required

The form of Arthur Fils continues to grow. The Frenchman continues to excel at Masters 1000 level as he is into another quarter-final after a big win over Alex De Minaur. The 21st seed has an explosive yet consistent game and will feel he is well on his way to challenging for the big tournaments. Now, Fils will be looking for some consistency as he looks to finally win one of these big events and continue his rapid development and rise up the rankings.

A big challenge awaits in the quarter-finals as he takes on Thiago Agustin Tirante. The big-serving Argentinian has had a sensational tournament so far taking down Novak Djokovic and Jakub Mensik so far in Cincinnati. The Argentinian has one of the biggest serves on tour but has shown substance behind that in the process. Now, Agustin Tirante aims to continue his dream week in Ohio and reach a first Masters 1000 semi-final of his career.

Fils will aim to use the block return to fend off Agustin Tirante’s big serve and groundstrokes. Meanwhile, Agustin Tirante will aim to serve aggressively and will use the forehand to dictate the rallies from the baseline.
