STORRS, Conn.\u00a0\u2013 Syracuse men’s soccer earned a statement road victory Thursday night, defeating No. 24 UConn, 2-1, at Morrone Stadium.<\/p>\n
The Orange opened the scoring in the 28th minute when sophomore newcomer\u00a0Jordan Grey<\/a>\u00a0found the back of the net.\u00a0Sachiel Ming<\/a>\u00a0provided the assist as Syracuse took a 1-0 lead. Syracuse added to its advantage just over three minutes later. In the 32nd minute, freshman\u00a0Gabriel Oksanen<\/a>\u00a0fired a right-footed shot into the bottom-right corner, with Grey earning the assist to give the Orange a 2-0 cushion. UConn answered before halftime when\u00a0Elijah Langford\u00a0scored in the 45th minute, cutting Syracuse’s lead to 2-1 heading into the break.<\/p>\n The Orange controlled the shot battle throughout the contest, finishing with\u00a013 shots, including\u00a0eight shots on goal.
