Dylan Strome<\/a> was back on the ice for a charity game in Brampton, Ontario, on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Strome was one of many current and former pro players who suited up for \u201cHockey Night in Brampton\u201d at the CAA Centre. The event raised funds for the construction of a second hospital in Brampton.<\/p>\n

Strome\u2019s starring moment in the game came during the shootout, where he dazzled with a one-handed poke move to score for Team Messier. The video, posted by TSN\u2019s Mark Masters<\/a>, went viral on social media.<\/p>\n

Other past and present NHL stars involved in the game included Gary Roberts, Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark, Pavel Mintyukov<\/a>, Michael Misa<\/a>, Paul Coffey, Ryan Getzlaf, Mark Giordano, Curtis Joseph, Kris Versteeg, Owen Power<\/a>, and former Washington Capitals<\/a> assistant coach Kirk Muller.<\/p>\n

Hockey Hall of Famer Mark Messier was the captain of the team that Strome played for, and Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> defenseman Morgan Rielly<\/a> was the captain of the other. The game ended in a 9-9 tie and raised $2.525 million for charity<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Strome should be back in DC soon as preparations for training camp ramp up. Many Capitals players are already getting in preseason work at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, with a big group jumping on the ice there on Thursday morning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Strome will be looking to bounce back from a down year with the Capitals, which saw him fail to record at least 60 points in the regular season for the first time since he joined the club in 2022.<\/p>\n

He was far and away Washington\u2019s leader in the shootout this past season, ending up as the only player to convert more than once on an attempt. He went 4-for-8 overall, the only bright spot in what was a horrid campaign for the Capitals in the skills competition, as they won just two of eight games that went to a shootout.<\/p>\n
