A trade completed between the Montreal Canadiens and the Anaheim Ducks is looking like a success, according to a former teammate of the young player involved.<\/p>\n

He appears to believe Kent Hughes pulled off quite a trade.<\/p>\n

The forward, who is younger than Farrell, has dominated the American Hockey League over the past two years.<\/p>\n

Nothing is guaranteed at the NHL level, but the talent is undeniable.<\/p>\n

Luneau, who spent plenty of time around Pastujov in the Ducks organization, knows his former teammate well.<\/p>\n

Sasha Pastujov’s strong AHL production could open the door to a Canadiens opportunity<\/p>\n

According to Luneau, Pastujov is also an incredible person off the ice and a playmaker who makes things easier for his teammates.<\/p>\n

Pastujov has never played in the NHL. An immediate spot in Montreal appears unlikely, but a strong season in Laval could open the door.<\/p>\n

Sasha Pastujov, 23, is a 6-foot, 183-pound winger who was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the third round of the 2021 NHL Draft, 66th overall.<\/p>\n

He was acquired by the Canadiens on July 27.<\/p>\n

Last season in the AHL, he recorded 57 points in 71 games after posting 45 points in 43 games the previous season.<\/p>\n

He has an intriguing profile.<\/p>\n
