{"id":866843,"date":"2026-08-22T01:32:26","date_gmt":"2026-08-22T01:32:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/866843\/"},"modified":"2026-08-22T01:32:26","modified_gmt":"2026-08-22T01:32:26","slug":"energy-nl-says-local-companies-ready-for-labrador-hydro-megaprojects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/866843\/","title":{"rendered":"Energy NL says Local Companies Ready for Labrador Hydro Megaprojects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/charlene-johnson-icdd-ceo-energy-nl.png\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"Energy NL says Local Companies Ready for Labrador Hydro Megaprojects\"\/>\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The people who will be involved in the designing, building and supplying the hydro projects in Labrador like what\u2019s on the horizon if the agreement passes all the hurdles. <\/p>\n<p>Energy NL says its members have the experience and expertise required for the megaprojects, including Gull Island, which unto itself will create about 5,000 jobs. <\/p>\n<p>Charlene Johnson, the CEO of Energy  NL, likes the commitment to have a procurement office in this province so that local companies can avail of the opportunities. <\/p>\n<p>She says industry in this province will be involved in virtually all aspects of the hydro development \u2013 everything from pouring concrete to supplying materials. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026the construction, the fabrication, the engineering. And then once the project is built, there\u2019s opportunity for operation and maintenance. As well we have members involved in catering and supplying legal services.
