We have a new development out of Columbus.<\/p>\n
A trade scenario along those lines has never looked more plausible, and the reason is simple.<\/p>\n
Goaltender Elvis Merzlikins<\/a> has just undergone shoulder surgery, and he will be out long term, with no timetable for his return.<\/p>\n Columbus is lacking depth in goal.<\/p>\n Behind starter Jet Greaves, the next goaltender on the depth chart, Pheonix Copley<\/a>, was signed for the American Hockey League.<\/p>\n The team’s announcement could open the door:<\/p>\n “Goaltender Elvis Merzlikins underwent successful shoulder surgery on Monday.
