On Sunday, the St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> will finish their series with the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They will look to avoid getting swept after losing each of the first two games.<\/p>\n

Most recently, the Cardinals<\/a> lost by a score of 12-3 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: The Cardinals<\/a> lost 6-4.<\/p>\n

Also on Sunday, news came out that a former Cardinals<\/a> pitcher had been designated for assignment by the Miami Marlins.<\/p>\n

MLB.com wrote<\/a> (on August 23): \u201cMiami Marlins designated LHP John King for assignment.\u201d<\/p>\n

King had been in the middle of his first season with the Marlins.<\/p>\n

He went 6-2 with a 3.99 ERA in 50 games.<\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see if he gets claimed by another MLB<\/a> team.<\/p>\n

There is also the chance that he ends up back with the Marlins (in Triple-A).<\/p>\n
