While the PGA Tour continues to build toward the 2028 season and the new competitive model that will be defined by a two-tiered system, the circuit announced on Monday its plan to also reimagine PGA Tour Charites, the Tour’s philanthropic arm.

The new charitable approach will launch in 2028 with a goal of creating, “a dedicated platform for direct community investment that gives players, partners, events and fans a clear and meaningful way to engage and connect to the Tour’s impact,” according to a press release.

To kickoff the new charitable approach, former Tour commissioner Tim Finchem and his wife, Holly, announced a $13 million “gift” to PGA Tour Charities along with an update on Brooks Koepka’s $5 million charitable contribution he made as part of his return to the Tour this season from LIV Golf. The remaining $2.5 million of the donation will be divided among “99 eligible [Tour] members.”

“This next chapter is about generating even more focus, coordination, resources and visibility around that work from the Tour level. Launching an evolved PGA Tour Charities – with a legacy-defining, transformative gift from the Finchems – is an exciting next step in golf’s enduring commitment to giving back,” said Laura Neal, the Tour’s executive vice president of strategic philanthropy.

A group of players, led by player advisory council chairman Lucas Glover, will provide guidance to build the Tour’s new philanthropy program.

“Charity has been such an important part of the PGA Tour, and I’ve seen that firsthand in the tournament markets – big and small – that I’ve played throughout my career,” Glover said in the release. “Ensuring that remains the case is one of the reasons I ran for PAC chairman, and I know it’s incredibly important to my fellow players as well. Building on what our tournaments have accomplished through the years is key, with fresh eyes on how we bring even more focus and resources from the Tour level.”

While the PGA Tour continues to build toward the 2028 season and the new competitive model that will…

[443
49,48,622,82
post-869712","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-golf","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-golf","tag-sports
["GET
