There\u2019s no relation between the two. Colorado has multiple vacancies on the 40-man roster.<\/p>\n<p>Blake Adams will be added ahead of tonight\u2019s game against the Nats, filling the roster spot of veteran lefty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/f\/freelky01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-24_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kyle Freeland<\/a>, who\u2019s headed to the 15-day IL due to a pinched nerve in his neck. The Rockies announced that move shortly after Harding\u2019s original report. Mason Adams will start tomorrow\u2019s game in what would have been Freeland\u2019s spot in the rotation. The move to bring him to the majors probably won\u2019t be officially announced until tomorrow.
