Saturday\u2019s home game against the Toronto Argonauts \u2014 a contest for which 30,000 tickets have already been sold.<\/a><\/p>\nAfter meeting Toronto, Saskatchewan will turn its focus to the annual home-and-home set with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Winnipeg is to visit Mosaic Stadium on Sept. 6 for the 61st Labour Day Classic.<\/p>\n
Patrick is in typically excellent shape to begin his second season with Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, any football player will tell you that there\u2019s nothing like actually being on the field,\u201d he said. \u201cYou can do all the drills and ladders and everything that you want during the off-season, but it\u2019s completely different than once you\u2019re actually moving around. You\u2019ve got your cleats on. You\u2019re going up and down the field at game speed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only thing that can prepare you for a game is practice, or another game. There\u2019s no drill that just gets you ready for a game.\u201d<\/p>\n
That said, Patrick is prepared to hit the ground running.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not my first rodeo,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve played several years professionally. That part doesn\u2019t change.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve got a job that you\u2019re out here to do. You know that there are people watching to make sure you do that. At the end of the day, whether you took a break or not, once you\u2019re out there and they\u2019ve got a guy in front of you, your job is to not let him do a certain thing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s really not a change in anything. It\u2019s more like a continuation.\u201d<\/p>\n
INJURY UPDATE<\/p>\n
Two starting receivers \u2014 Samuel Emilus and Johnny Johnson III \u2014 did not practise on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Johnson III suffered a head injury late in Sunday\u2019s road game against the B.C. Lions.<\/p>\n
Emilus (leg) has been placed on the six-game injured list after one game back in the lineup. He had missed the previous three contests.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s season-ending,\u201d Mace said of the injury to Emilus. \u201cIt\u2019s just super unfortunate. I know how much this game and this team mean to that guy.<\/p>\n
