Stockard Channing was spotted stepping onto her first red carpet in over two years, just weeks after saying she was \u201chappy being a recluse.<\/a>\u201d <\/p>\n

The 82-year-old actress attended the\u00a0\u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d European premiere<\/a>\u00a0in London on Tuesday, wearing a tailored midnight blue suit with a cream-colored blouse.<\/p>\n

She wore her brunette hair in soft waves and accessorized with a dramatic lariat chain necklace and duster earrings. <\/p>\n

The \u201cGrease\u201d actress was joined at the glamorous event by co-stars including Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Joey King, Maisie Williams and Dianne Wiest. <\/p>\n

At one point, she wrapped her arm around Wiest for an affectionate photo. <\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the Emmy-winning actress confessed in a Sunday Times essay<\/a> that since the 2014 death of her partner, Daniel Gillham, at the age of 58, she\u2019s \u201clived alone\u201d as a recluse outside Hollywood.<\/p>\n

Channing wrote that the loss after 25 years with the cinematographer was \u201cmore devastating than\u201d\u00a0she\u2019d realized, and that mourning the loss \u201cshifted \u2026 the pattern [of her] life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cWest Wing\u201d alum ultimately sold her Los Angeles home<\/a>\u00a0and moved across the pond in 2019, where she takes things slowly and wears non-designer clothing.<\/p>\n

\u201cPottering is my meditation; moving things from that pile to that pile,\u201d she said, joking that \u201cAt my age, life is guided by bodily functions.\u201d <\/p>\n

Channing \u2014 who was married and divorced four times prior to her romance with Gillham \u2014 also explained that her movies all \u201ctake [her] back to a particular time,\u201d acknowledging a remarkable career spanning nearly six decades.<\/p>\n

\u201cDifferent age groups recognize me from different characters,\u201d she explained. \u201cFor younger girls it\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Practical Magic,\u2019 for grown-ups it\u2019s\u00a0\u2018The West Wing,\u2019 and for real grown-ups it\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Grease.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

And though she directed a show in Edinburgh this year on top of appearing in the beloved sequel to 1998\u2019s original \u201cPractical Magic,\u201d the \u201cStockard Channing Show\u201d star said she\u00a0wasn\u2019t sure she\u2019d \u201cdo anything\u201d after that.<\/p>\n

Channing admitted in a 2020 interview that \u201cPractical Magic\u201d has been a \u201cfavorite for a lot of people\u201d over the years. <\/p>\n

She also confessed that the working relationship with fellow icons Kidman and Bullock was \u201ccongenial\u201d and \u201cplayful.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cBoth Nic and Sandy were enormously warm,\u201d she recalled in an interview with Vulture<\/a> at the time. <\/p>\n

\u201cSandy is very, very funny and smart, and Nic was just lovely.
